On come the critics talking about the Crows soft draw... We drop one against the Cats and we must be rubbish. The win over the Eagles was nothing. Hey... News flash... We finished bottom four last year folks and deserved an easy draw... No one said we were about to win the Grand Final UNLIKE some other certain teams eh! ;) Suck it up buttercup!
That said, the Mighty's did play pretty soft footy against the Cats - was hard to watch. I now know what it feels like to be a Carlton supporter. Speaking of which, was a massive win for the blues over those giant killing Tigers. Note that I didn't Suns killing? 4 points. You know yer in trouble when the Tigs are favourites to beat you and it is a win you can get excited about. Chicken wing anyone?
There were a few crankings on the weekend - some expected and some not so. The pies over the Giants... Tick, eagles n lions... Tick, swans n suns... Tick. The Roos over the "Officially We Tanked for The Future of Our Club and All We Got Was This Lousy Jack Watts Kid" Dees. Of all the ways to cheat, you do it by losing for 6 years straight? Someone needs to point out the weakness in this plan to them. At least the Blues and Bombers cheated to try and WIN!
The Sinners absolutely killed the Doggies and the result was known but maybe some didn't realise how crap the dogs were going to be, while the scoreline flattered the Paps. I bluddy picked the Paps over the Dockers - how stupid was I?
Finally the bombers were pumped by the Hawks. Was nice to see Ando actually pick his team this week after last weeks effort - I almost want to take away this weeks tip from him as due punishment but figured missing out on the bonus point due to disloyalty was punishment enough.
Tippers
Five tippers whoppered up this week, notably the now leader and her number 2 - IH8Crows and Tommy R - who has a big bombers logo as his avatar but clearly acknowledges he follows a rubbish team. IH8 has been giving her better half - Once Great - the kind of flogging not even spoken about in 50 Shades of Grey, and is now three clear at the top but fortunes do indeed change quickly.
Round 19
It happens his time every year - blow outs and predictability with the odd upset. The upset this week will be bombers fans as they see their team edge closer to missing the 8 after losing to a rebounding rampaging Crows. Yes Dave we have a soft draw but it would be softer if we played you guys twice rather than the Cats!
Actually looking through the games there are some potential upsets on offer. The hawks will start faces over the Cats but they famously haven't beaten them since 2008 - wild johnny this is one for the true believers. I can't see the Cats winning but if they do it will put the Crows game in perspective.
The Dogs play North? Again the Roos should win - and need to if they want to make the 8. The dogs should be hurting. Can't tip em but I am a man of tradition and the Roos lose these games traditionally.
Port will surely be a rapidly tiring Giants, but don't be so sure about the Dees over the Suns. Thankfully there is the Derby - eagles n haze. Yeah tough gig here - will pick the eagles cos you can't pick the heave ho - and while I will pick the Pies over the sinners, I reckon the saints will give it a real shake.

Tall Poppy?
Speaking outside court, Jurrah's Darwin-based silk, Jon Tippett, QC, said his client was a victim of tall poppy syndrome who had been targeted because of his high profile within the sporting world.
"I think it's tall poppy syndrome and unfortunately my client is a victim of it," he said.Well we all know what we like to use to lop those tall poppies... a FRIGGIN MACHETE!

There's Only Two Ways You Can Get A Sore Neck...
"There are only two ways to injure your neck: A car accident and cunnilingus." ~
Larry David
Come clean Steph Rice... which is it? I wake up this morning and hear on the news that she has a sore neck - what else am I supposed to think? No wonder Russell & Lauryn Mark aren't allowed to bunk together - we can't have the whole squad going down with sore necks...
Hmmm anyway, in the two games from the top of the table, the best birds won. The Hawks absolutely gazumped the Pies, and the Crows comfortably accounted for the Eagles. Handy win for both teams. Didn't see much of the Hawks win of course cos the Crows were playing at the same time, but it was good to see Clarkson have a nice spit of the dummy as he smashed the wall in before heading down for the quarter time chat. [Oh and then he went and had a dummy spit at his sons umpy in some under 3's game... COME ON CLARKO! GET A FRIGGIN GRIP!]
No Buddy, No Problems apparently. T Cloke continued his 'bad form'. Of course it could be the bad delivery. Swan had 49 posessions - not sure how useful they were cos he still scored not a massive number of points in the dream team. Why aren't people howling about how he hogs the ball to the detriment of the team a la G Ablett Jr? Oh thats right... cos it is crap in both instances but Ablett is an easier target.
The Crows forward line continues to be a concussion zone with Tippers copping another blow to the head. Not sure he was going to join up at Mensa post-football career, but 3 concussions in 6 weeks is a bit of a worry. Pull yer head in son! Literally. He isn't in my dream team so I thought he'd be safe.
The Tiggers n Roos fought out a tight battle. Literally. Lots of cat fights at quarter time - good to see a little passion in the battle for 9th and 10th. I thought the Roos were gonna kickstart keep the family name CHOKE for a bit there but they managed to get the win on the board. Poor ole Adam Scott.
No suprises with the Dockers win over the Giants, but the Suns nearly took the choccies against the Lions. Shame - they had their chances, with some decent goalkickers missing set shots. DAMNIT!
The Cats bobbed up with what was a surprise win to many. So at what stage did the Bombers have you fooled? OK they had me fooled when I tipped them over the Sinners but NEVER AGAIN. With Daaaaave back in the country I always thought they were a monty to fall over. Are the Cats back or are the Bombers cracked? More the latter than the former but given the Crows play them both in the next two weeks I should be a bit shhhhhh on it.
Who else played....? Oh the Sinners played the Swans is a crappy crappy game of footy only saved by the closeness in the last quarter. The Swans won and grabbed top spot back on percentage from the Crows. It's a nice view from up here... I'll enjoy it for now.
Hmmm and in other battles of no consequence to the Top Eight, the Paps beat the Dees up in the Top End, while the Blues did everything but lose against the Doggies. Both teams are crap and if the Blues make the eight they will make a nice little confidence boost to whoever finishes 5th...
The Tippers
THREE people managed full marks this week - Tricky Dicky Banks, John Murray, and David Polkinghorne all get whoppers. Has anyone actually eaten their whopper yet? Good effort there picking all 9 in what was a tough week.
The top of the table became a bit closer with IH8Crows leaping equal with Ruby2Shoes after yet again correctly tipping the Crows. Should we reverse all such tips from hereon in? Ruby's tipping hung on the Doggies/Blues game - he picked the Doggies and if that got home it would have been an entirely different scenario for him. Dr Phanto is in 3rd while a group sit back in equal 4th.
Round 18
As the Flight of the Conchords so rapturously sang... It's Business Time... and there are some important games this week, along with a bunch of really couldn't give a flying conchord.
First up the Bombers n Hawks. It's the first time in a lot of years that both teams have been in the 8 and on sort of equal terms. But lets be honest, the Hawks will drop the Bombers like stone.
The Cats play the Crows down at Skilled... obviously if this were in Adelaide it is a no-brainer but down at Skilled... well it will be a good win for the Mighty Mighty's.
Carlton play the Tigers in a genuinely hard game to pick. Not sure. They are both very average teams and the loser is no chance to make the eight with the winner not much more likely. Both teams have losing form - that win over the dogs means nothing. Hard to pick the Tigers though.
Port v Freo is another toughie - if the Dockers are going to make the 8 then they have to win - the Paps would love to spoil their party. I'm tipping the Paps to cause the upset here.... while the Sinners will be too good for the Doggies and the Beagly Beaglies too good for the Lions.
An easy Whopper to you all then eh?
North, Pies and Swans will easily beat the Dees, Giants and Suns - percentage anyone?

Chicken K
My god... I just saw the ad for Home and Away and can't help but ask... Who will make it? It is just so bloody tense! That red car is rolling rolling rolling and someone wont make it... Its just like the race for the 8 isnt it? We have heroes and villains. Some villains will have to stay in the race (stand up Pies) and some heroes will have to die (cats anyone?). But as the Premiership Table starts to find some form I think we can be confident on the top 6 teams getting through to the business end. Those last couple of positions? Not so...
But really it was all about the K Man this weekend - Unbelievable! At the ten minute mark of the last quarter I just loved hearing the commentators say the tigers were showing just how much more mature they were and the game was over... then... Ding dong... It was. All over for the Tiggers 2012.
Speaking of all over, villains, pressure points... Theres Judd. WTF? It's all been said before but seriously is the man demented? Was he upset knowing that Ricky Nixon was about to go on some drug induced rampage? And WTF is going on with Ricky Nixon? Was he upset at having seen the Royal Blue try and gently remove Leigh Adams arm like he was trying to break an old Atari joystick? Either way I am guessing there is a holiday awaiting both of them, and Juddies will officially end the very slim hopes the Bluebaggers had. The Kangas did what I really thought they could not do, but I did laugh my arse off.
That was a smashing folks - and so was the Roos beating of the Blues... The Haze did their best to make hard work of the Dees. I enjoyed the Pav talking after the game about how they played well blah blah... Was He aware they played a team who have won just two games for the year? Pav. Hint son. Only just beating the Dees is not a sign that if you follow your structures, everything will work out. The Dees are a pathetic excuse for a team this year and beating is not something that should arouse excitement as you sing yer heave ho.
The bombers made similar hard work of the Paps. Sure the final margin was 8 goals but that was a last quarter fade out caused by the arrival of half the cats squad to try and wooooo Boak. I can't believe that is legal? I thought they all had to pretend there was no talk?
Like Clokey. Apparently he is hurting his brand. Don't you just love it when bucks talks about brand? He is hurting his brand (ie playing crap) and in danger of hurting his teams brand (ie bucks is finding it annoying). Bucks knows about people leaving teams for money cos he left the lions/bears for money back in the day.
It didn't stop the Pies damaging the Cats brand on Saturday night. That was a pounding. The Sinners Crows n Hawks all got home easy (well.... aside from the Sinners), and in the Match of the Round the Beagles hosted the Swans... Oof! After a slow start the swans never looking like the we're going to lose. The eagles looked tired and slow - the injuries and suspensions finally getting to them. The Swans go top! Unbelievable. Apparently they are no longer under the radar...
Tipping
There was one tipper who picked the full month this weekend - no surprise he sits well away from the top of the table... Ahhhh asylum seeker... Don't let tony see you or he will stick that whopper where the sun don't shine.
Ruby2 is still leading by 2 at the top of the table.
In the side comp Magyver now leads the way with 28 with crooks the next longest live one on 20... Still plenty of games folks so don't give up - top 3 overall win some dosh.
Christmas in July
Well thats what the fox footy folk are calling it and fair enough cos there are some rippers this week.
First up we have the crows n beagles in Radelaide. Yes yes yes... The crows have an easy run this year, but as Richmond know, you still have to win... The eagles have done very well despite injuries but by cracking Thomas in the nuts last week, they have lost a player or two too many. Will they fire back up after getting a spanking by the swans?
Oh my god... I just saw bieber on tv. He is so hunky. I love him.
The crows will win but you can all pick the eagles.
Next up the hawks n Pies duke it out in a massive game between 3rd n 4th on the table. That's not one or two, but you would assume they were one n two cos the biased Melbourne footy media only focuses on them. Tough tough pick. No buddy could be the difference. I am thinking the Pies.
The cats n Bombers play on Friday night and this is crucial for both teams. If the bombers win then they are still a chance for top 4, if the cats win they are probably gonna make the 8. The cats just look a bit average at the moment, and while I wouldn't put money on the dons, I will pick em.
Carlton have a chance to get back on the winning side of the ledger as they take on the dogs, while the Tiggers have a chance to burst the Roos bubble. Lose that one and the Roos are not worthy. If I tip em they will lose - I am really starting to dislike the Roos.
The swans can make it tough for the Saints, while the Paps will be too good for the Dees, and the dockers will be 5 goals too good for the Giants. Finally the lions will drop the suns too much experience. Go Crows!

Round 15: Surprise Surprise
No I didn't see that coming.
Ok i did know the Crows would be way too good for the pitiful pathetic pittman-like Paps. But I assumed the Pies would be looking for revenge over the Blues after round 3 and gave the Noddy's no chance. I also didn't see the Sinners slaughter of the Bombers coming. Oh hang on... I did. But I didn't tip em. I watched bits of the game while watching the Crows kick pap-butt minus all forward liners and couldn't tell the difference between the two teams - wasn't that supposed to be a clash guernsey? The silver surfers? WTF? They cost me $15 in the betting comp - bastards!
When I saw the Roos leading the Beagles at half time I couldn't help but reflect on what a brilliant commentator on the game I am. Yet another piece of nostradamus-ism by the man they call Horseboy. And then when the Eagles came home hard it was nothing short of genius by both the Big Cox and Horseboy. Heads up - the Coxman is going to be making his way into my dream team soon so expect an injury.
The Hawks pumped the Giants and then pumped some more but not before buddy got injured - out for a couple (yes he is in me dream team), and the swans killed the lions, while the cats made hard work of the golden showers. Overall the Suns have actually done pretty well up at metricon this year without having once sealed the deal. Is that because the Suns aren't quite as bad as we all think or because teams go up there and think of the game as another ride at a theme park?
Of course the Tiggers won and the Dockers played unwatchable footy to beat the Doggies.
So now we have massive gridlock at the top and in the middle of the table. I'm the first to admit the Crows are aided by the best draw since Picasso. But heads up - it doesn't get harder for us so we'll be top 4 ladies - suck it. The Swans are somehow top of the table on percentage, but the Beagles and Pies are still sadly the best teams in the comp. IN the middle... well if you can tell me who is going to finish in 8th you are even better than me. Ruby2Shoes may be able to tell us... or you can use THIS:
http://www.afl.com.au/bailey%20ladder%20predictor/tabid/13046/default.aspx
Tippers
No... seriously... Ruby2 may be able to after he pulled 9 from 9 and got the bonus point - so he is now 3 clear of 2nd. Picking the Blues AND Sinners? We have to drug test him. There were a heap of 8's, and there wasn't massive movement aside from his effort.
In the Streak comp we have a new leader - Magyver is slowly moving on 26. Top 3 overall streaks get the cookies so Owen and Tom are currently in the box seat for those with 25 and 23 picks but Chooka and Media Unit are on 18 & 17 respectively and still on the march.
Round 16
Lets go straight to the top of the table clash - the Eagles play the Swans in what has become a big game over the years, and this time will be no exception. The eagles keep winning despite having no forward line. Cox & NicNat are having unbelievable years. The Swans have injected some pace and the midfield is scoring goals while their defence has continued to rebound well. The eagles have a couple more outs this week with suspensions (possibly), but they are at home. Who was the last team to beat them at home? The Swans. Man this is a tough tip. I'll tip the Eagles cos of the homeground but it should be a cracker.
The Poos play the Bloos on friday night and... i don't really care - I will laugh at the loser either way cos if the Bloos lose then their Pies wins are no better than when the Paps beat the Crows ie pointless if you don't beat other teams. The Poos have strung together a cuppla good games now but against teams who may not have been playing at their best... if they lose then what was the point other than to allow us to watch James Brayshaw backtrack? Who will I tip? Toss a coin but the Bloos undoubtedly have better cattle.
The Dees host Freo and the season is on the line for the haze. They should win comfortably but I would only put dave's money on it. Similarly the Bombers should beat Port but... but... hmmm. The Bombers have a few injuries... Paps supporters unite on this win (while I tip the Bombers).
Richmond & Adelaide play the Showers n Giants - easy winnings - but the Cats n Pies will be something else. If the Pies lose then are they on the down? If the Cats lose then are they GONE? I'm gonna go with the ladder position for this one and say the Pies, but be happy if I'm wrong.
St Kilda go up to the Gabba to take on the Lions and should be too good if they are legitimate chances for the 8, and finally the Dogs play the Hawks. No Franklin, no worries for the Hawks.

Round 14: Dead Golf Blues
My golf has recently been much like the Suns footy. Ie no friggin hope. I scored 3 points on the front 9 on Sunday. No. Seriously. On the second hole I was on the green in two (par 4) and then wiped the hole. Putt. Putt. Putt. Putt. Putt. Pick the fucka up lukeeee boy. It was killing me. And with 16 holes to go all i could think of was "at least i am not guy mckenna". Not just cos then I am not a bloodnut, but also because I am still a chance to actually win a game this year whereas the Suns have pretty much no chance. Ok ok... My chances of winning a round this year seem remote but I did get a nearest the pin and 3 pars on the back 9, while the Suns back 9 are going to lead to FAIL FAIL FAIL.
The Suns of course got absolutely hammered by the Beagles. Not exactly the biggest surprise, but how light are their bodies? They just don't look ready for anything. Contrast with the giants - who also got smashed - and they seem like a bunch of outside players. This is an admittance of being... W...w....w...wrong... Cos at the start of the year I ridiculed the Giants selections, but they actually picked a whole heap of mid-tier bigger bodied players and their young players already seem mature, while the suns are all runners who aren't even doing that very well. And not helped by injuries and Brennan being crap.
There was only one real 50/50 on the weekend and most of us picked the Sinners in that one. Those bloody Kangas eh? Just when you thought you had 9 from 9 and the bonus point in yer hot little hand they come along and win. What a rubbish cupola teams they are. And now the Roos are in the 8. They won't stay there but who will make it is anyone's guess. The rest of the weekend pretty much panned out as expected. The hawks smashed the blues to knock them out of the 8, the pies easily accounted for the haze despite their best attempts at kicking themselves out of the game. The bombers bashed the doggies who are now officially GONE, the cats the Paps, and the Lions showed just how bad the dees are with an absolute killing. Oh and the crows did it very easy over the Tiggers before being robbed by the MRP of Walker. AN ABSOLUTE DISGRACE! Hmmm oh ok... Maybe fair enough... although three weeks seems a bit stiff. Not sure about Goddard getting 2 for a love tap either. Is he a redhead?
Tippers
3 whoppers this week with Judge Dredd, Trenta and Crowsfc flippin out the full house while 35 fell for the sinners curse. Overall though there was no change in the top 10 with ih8crows clearly loving them as they continue to win, and ruby2 and TomR maintaining their lead. Ih8 better pick the Paps this week!
Round 15
As with every week there are some good bad n ugly games this week, but however you judge the first game it will be big, with the pies n blues duking it out Friday night. Logic says the Pies by how much. Last time they met it was the Blues by how much and Sammy The Falcon was casting all sorts on the Pies... Ahhh Sammy... ten weeks is a long time in footy eh? The Blues are looking at sacking Ratten in the next month while Bucks is looking at letting Cloke go to the Haze while remaining premiership favourites. Yes that hurts. This is the game where the Blues could draw a line in the sand. They won't - they'll lose by a lot.
On Saturday the Roos host the Eagles. The Eagles will be faces and will win after a close first half. That said, those kangas are statistically the hardest team in the comp to pick. That aint based on fact but it sounds close to the truth. Meanwhile the Dees play the Tiggers and this is the kind of game we all know the Tiggs do actually lose, so if you are looking for an upset, tip the Dees and be nervous. I'll tip the Tiggs.
Sydney will easily beat the Lions to put em back in their box, but I reckon the Sinners are a sneaky chance to come back and get the win over the Bombers. The latter are kinda due for a loss. No Goddard could be a good thing - but better would be no Clarke. The Hawks and Cats will smash the Coast n Giants, while the Crows will clearly kill off the Paps who have 3 players left on their list. And finally Freo will clean up the Doggies to keep in the race and put themselves back in the 8.

The Falcons Tour de France 2012 Guide
One of our tippers - The Falcon - takes far too massive an interest in men with shaved legs and links to mysterious chemical dispensing companies... despite his love of the ole dark navy blues his blog for the Tour de France is a worthy read so get on board:

Round 13: Yo Mama Gave Me...
OK well I have to say Brock McLean you are one massive TOOL. No... seriously... At what stage did you think THIS was a good thing to do? And if you don't like idiots posting stupid things to you on twitter, GET OFF IT. There is no law that says you have to be on Twitter if you are a footballer. It's like sending that late night text. It's NOT a good idea. They won't say yeah SURE I would love to see you, you sound drunk enough to rock my world! Ain't gonna happen. Brock. Get off the tweet. You have a footballers brain and even 140 characters is too much for you.
The footy... Yeah yeah yeah... That SUCKED! Not only did the Crows losing to a CRAP team - yes that is you Kangaroos - but I stupidly tipped the Giants. What was I thinking? Actually they looked good until near the end of the first quarter when it was 31 a piece but went downhill pretty farkin quickly after that. It was good to see the Dees get so excited beating a team of 19 year olds - they must have felt so BIG and MANLY as they pushed the kids around and told them they were crap. If anything says where the Dees are it is that they got such a thrill from beating a team they should have. I can't remember seeing a good team feel the need to do that - Cats, Pies, Eagles - they all just went about their business but the Dees?
I went to the Swans game on Friday night and it turned into a ripper eh? The Cats were nowhere in the first quarter as the swans smashed em all over the park - except for where ever Goodesy was hiding. Jetta was on fire and LRT kept his distance from general play. They were unstoppable. The second quarter was more old school Swans - grind grind grind. The third quarter saw the Cats slowly get into it. And the last quarter saw them explode, bang bang bang, into the lead, swans back, cats back, and then Andreas 'I am not a spider' Everett marked and kicked truly to get the Swans over the line. Great game. I still can't see the Swans progressing much beyond the second week of the finals, but Jetta has added some massive bite to their game. The Cats are looking like they will have to claw their way into 7th or 8th hope for the best.
Equally massive was the Pies n Eagles. Yes it was a massive game and the Pies won. And yes I know that their supporters have to have tatts n no teeth just to get female membership, but this extension to the players has gone too far. The question is, where did it start? Well we all know that Big Dane Swan has led the way so after some digging around I found his first effort:
Just goes to show how much pre-season training he has been putting in since the start of 2009. Nice colouring. But this first one by Beams is more of a cry for help.
Thats why you never tattoo your lady friend on your arm, and that's why he now has had to undergo extensive tatts just to remove it from his body.
My certainty for the week fell over - the doggies were never in the race against the lions. Doh. And the bombers broke their hoodoo both in the west and in June. Hurley kicked 6 of the best but everyone's favorite moment was seeing Jetta cop one in the face and the ump 'saw nothing'. Gold. Even better was that the MRP also saw nothing. Platinum. How squeaky is his voice by the way?
Tipping
Hmmm I got TWO! Whoops. After a zillion full houses last week there was one 5 fer this week to dr phanto which takes him to one point behind the new leaders Ih8, ruby2 and TomR. Good effort as the Horseboy drops back a pace or two.
In the streak comp our fearless 'current' leader played safe and tipped nobody, thus ensuring his 22 stayed intact. Now THAT is tactics.
Round 14
Thank fork the 6 games per round is over. There are some defining games this weekend. First up is the Roos n sinners. The winners stay in the race, the losers are gone. I think I say that every week about someone, and given there are 10 teams that will miss out, chances are I will be right more often than not. The roos are pretenders and will be gone.
Next is the Crows n Tiggers. If the crows lose there will be rumblings, if the Tiggers lose they will be gone. The Tiggers will need more than the Flu going thru the team to be any chance and it is they that will be gone.
While it could be a good game, the Hawks will further consign the Blues to an early 2013 pre-season. The Pies will smash the Haze as Cloke contenmplates his move West, the Coast will smash the Coast, Sydney will smash Sydney, and Bombers will beat the Dogs - but if you want an upset, that is the one you want. Oh and the Lions will ream the Dees while the Cats will stay in the race by making the Paps look as bad as they are.

Round 12 - Easy Games Made Hard
Well that was an exciting round eh?
YAWN
In all the games the favorite got up but bad kicking kept the oppositions in. And while there was focus on the Sinners missed opportunities, Tippers missed some pretty easy shots too which would have meant the game was over a bit earlier, but the standard BIASED commentary kept talking about their lovechild Nick Riewoldt. Does the word OVERRATED mean anything to you? *stirs* Well, I would be stirring if there was a Sinners supporter in here but I am yet to meet one. And when I do I will ask them what they were doing at half time in the 1997 Granny. SUCKERS.
I was never nervous by the way. EVER.
BLOODY GIANTS! I PUT TEN BUCKS ON YA @ $15!!!
I don't have much to say but Lance Armstrong took performance enhancing drugs apparently. No kidding Sherlock. When are they just going to legalise them in cycling? Just admit that they have always taken drugs and always will? Bang. Problem solved. In the 20s they took coke to ease the pain, now they take who knows what. Allow it and then I wouldn't have to pretend that when australian cyclists do well, they are clean while all other countries are dirty.
Tippers
Well that was a pretty easy round if you just stuck to the favorites. And the best part about a short round is you still get a bonus point. Of course if you forgot to put the tip in on thursday for the early game then you kinda reap what you sow.
THIRTY FOUR TIPPERS picked the full round. Thats a lotta whoppers. It also means if you got the full monty you probably didn't move too much. As such the top of the table appears gridlocked.
In the Side Comp some HERO picked all 6 games. Thank you... thank you... that takes me to... 8. But leading the way is Magyver - not out on 22 and now equal 3rd... he is playing it simple but will he tip anyone this week? Not too many easy ones.
Round 13
One last set of 6 before we go back to the standard and I reckon this weeks is the best of the lot.
Starting with the friday night clash between the Swans and the Cats at the SCG - this should be a ripper. There aren't enough Friday night games in Sydney and damnit I will be there. Goodes is back and I will tip the Swans cos the Cats are less than convincing at the moment. $1.60 last I saw.
On Saturday the Dogs should have too much for the Lions and thus stay in delusional touch with the 8. I read in the paper that the Dogs are playing better this year. Really? You sure? They haven't beaten anyone of note.
Then we have the big one between the Pies n Eagles. This could be a preview of the Prelim final to see who comes second against the Crows 2012. It is big. Are any players coming back? Home ground gives it to the Pies but this will be one of the games of the year. Fact. Hard n tough. And hopefully a couple more injuries each.
Over in the West the Dockers host the Bombers. Another big game. If the Dockers win then they are back in the eight knocking out Lyons old mob. The Bombers lose and that June hoodoo is looming large. Hmmm If I tip the Docker and they lose I will be PISSED OFF. Maybe go the Daaaave and tip the Bombers but be happy if they lose. Win/Win.
On Sunday the Dees host the Giants. The heart says the Giants. The head says the Dees are shit. But can the Giants play out four quarters? Lloydy came out this week and said Izzy is not hope and a waste to which Sheeds said Lloydy never liked a challenge. Well what about the challenge of falling forward? GO THE MARGIN BET!
And finally the Crows play the Rangeypoos. These are the games top 4 teams need to win. The roos are a very ordinary unit while the Crows are fading late in their games. You know the Crows will win.

Round 11: BAU Resumes
It's a quick turnaround this week with the Queen's Birthday Slaughter on the monday - a late game too - why start so late? - and then for some reason we have a thursday night game. WTF?? Not sure why would choose a round with 3 less games to then spread them over more days... but thats just me clearly.
Definitely Business As Usual for round 11 and you were an idiot if you thought the Paps were any chance over the Hawks. Yes I am an idiot. Reading the papers I see that now the Hawks and Pies are back to favoritism. Why would anything have changed from last week? They were both heavy favorites to win over the crappy teams they were playing.
Speaking of crappy, the Bluebaggers have finally worked out what it was that was cooking. $hit Sandwich. mmm tastes good eh boys? The Cats made hard work of it, and the table is such that realistically it will only take both teams a 3 wins in a row to be back up amongst it. Way too early to write both teams off but I'll tell ya, the blues are GONE and they know it. I heard that BigEars has booked holidays in September so he can be ready for pre-season on the 1st October. On second thoughts you may wanna start that pre-season in September Ratts.
More BAU with the Tiggers doing what they do best - losing games they should have won. They waited to see my tip and BANG. Thanks for coming. And they managed to get beaten by a team of schlop that lost their #1 ruckman 3 minutes into the game. What does that say about their #1 ruckman? I guess the benefit is that they are then able to bring in an ex-Crows player to cover... what are we? The feeder team? You can count the Tiggers out of the finals action now ladies. Thanks for the thrills. Goodnight nurse.
There was one sort-of upset on the weekend - the Swans getting over the Bombers. Looking at the number of points the Bombers kicked... well bad kickin is bad footy. Still, with the Bombouts kicking 9 goals in the last quarter there would have been some brown pant action going on around the ground. Nice of Dempsey to play on though eh?
The less said about the Suns the better. They looked almost as bad as the Dees. While IH8Crows was busy perving on NudeNick, OnceGreat was left talking about BoysIIMen. I'm not sure if he meant the Suns looked a bit young, but one thing you don't wanna do is google that at work.
Tippers
Its got tight at the top again with 9 of yas getting 5 from 6 - the Tiggers being the major cause of concern. Overall 6 people are now tied for 1st, with IH8Crows inexplicably joining the fray.
In the side comp... well it's all too hard now, but Magyver is leading the current streak with 20 - he's going all conservative on us but with half the season left it is anyones, so get on board.
Round 12
Still just the six games this week and starting on thursday night. Nup, i STILL don't know why. But it does start with what could be an interesting game. The injury smashed Eagles who are still doing fine thank you very much vs the have a cuppla injuries and struggling badly Bluebaggers. It's in the west so you would think the Beagles but if you want an upset, why not start with this one? (I'll pick the Eagles though.)
Yes the Crows should beat the Sinners. Yes I had Saad in my dreamteam. If you h8 the Crows you should tip the Sinners this week. That's my tip.
Now... the Giants host the Tiggers this week... and I reckon the Giants are a sneaky chance to get this one. They have had the week off, while the Tiggers will be a bit gutted from their feeble effort last week... It is definitely winnable, no? We will of course all pick the Tigs, so if yer in the middle here is your chance to make up ground. Or fall behind. Not so sure the Suns are a sneaky against the Roos. Here is our chance to see if the Coasters are worth $hit. They were pretty pathetic on the weekend - on the surface it appeared they weren't even there. They have copped a pasting in the press, and Bluey has called them all very naughty boys, and defintely not the messiah (despite having the Son of God in their team). I would love to see the Suns pull something out of the bag this week. Won't pick em but will be cheering for them. DO SOMETHING PLEASE!
The Hawks will trounce the Lions after Buddy got off for the same tackle Walker got two for, and in the last game the Doggies play the Paaaaah. Neither team will make the 8 but if it isn't close then the loser has gone backwards this year.
Don't forget your tips on THURSDAY...

Round 10: Anyone Upset...?
Ahhh yes it all started on Friday night with the Sinners n Tiggers duking it out in a tackle free game. Sadly I was out watching The Hard Ons at the Royal Annandale Hotel but by all accounts it was a ripper of a game if you like Gaelic football. OK OK... that was really Paul Roos who still has a stick up his butt after Demetriou's 2005 comments. Move on Roosy... Move on. Lil Jack Riewoldt kicked 8 of the best and the Tiggers snuck home despite Daaaaave putting money on them.
That is one hullova battle against the odds.
Speaking of money, one thing I learnt over the weekend should not surprise anyone. Over the last 30 years the Bluebaggers have stolen more players off other clubs than any other team in the comp. Gibbs n Judd are from the current crop, but of course their infamous salary cap RORTING wasn't that far in the past and Kernas, Braddles, Motley, Diesel Williams, Naley, Rhys-Jones... Jezza... Barassi... and all the way back to Brighton Diggins in 1938. Yep those dirty dirty BlueBaggers have always been about the money. So no one should be surprised that our resident Blues supporters both put money on the Power on the weekend and seemed quite content to see their team of PRETENDERS slide down that slippery slope. Yep The Falcon and Chris Judds Blue Balls both backed a crappy team of no hopers performing in front of 48 people and 8000 metres of tarpaulin rather than put a lazy 20 on their own team. Unbelievable. No wonder the team doesn't care. As long as they are making their supporters money, that's good enough. IPL anyone? I am just waiting to hear that they have put some hard earned on the Blues to miss the 8. Ding Ding. Get on board. The spirit of J Elliot lives on.
No surprises that the Pies smashed the Suns. Ablett had 53 posessions and Fox Footy's brain trust Kingy pondered if the Suns would be better without him because they are just too reliant. Kingy, you are a clown. STFU.
Franklin kicked 13 against the incredibly inadequate Roos. With every passing week whichever Scott brother it is that coaches them is looking more like an aberration himself. Meanwhile the other Scott spent the first half of the game against the GWS wondering if he was about to have an aberration of his own. I don't think it is a coincidence that the 2 NKOTB are staying in the contests until half time and then flagging. Maybe they both have the same orange supplier? Anyway The Other Scott didn't need to get the knife out just yet as the Cats made it home comfortably after a tight first half.
And of course the Mighty Mighties tried to make a game of it against the haze before running away with it in the last quarter. I was never nervous. Ryan Crowley is a TOOL of the highest degree - lets hope he gets 12 weeks for being a dick. And that should be the charge. None of this 'staging' rubbish being on the charge sheet. "Ryan Crowley is charged with being 3.5 inches of flaccid penis. How do you plead? Who cares. Guilty. 12 weeks and removal of your left testicle."
Speaking of staging, the Bombers showed the heart of a pea against the Dees. How long is it since the Bombers won a game in June? Leroy Jetta needs to be facing similar charges to Crowley. The Dees got off the bottom of the table but I am not thinking they are getting any other wins too soon.
Oh, the Lions beat the Eagles in a pretty damn fine last minute of a game. What a torp! Unbelievable! Still, the beagles won't be too worried and vossy shouldn't be buying a new house too soon.
Tippers
Safe to say if you scored well this week you are probably not doing so well overall... a pair 7's was all it took to be the best peformer this week and Judge Dredd & PavPaaaa were the people in question. Crow v Paaaaaa Showdown in the heart of Radelaide. BOOM.
Overall, much like the AFL ladder it is getting tight at the top, with ruby2shoes now equal top with ze Horseboy and 4 others on their tail. Top 10 will get the cash so stay with it.
In the side comp we had some OUTS with the Dees win. The top 7 all missed out and go back to the start. Please remember... your score DOES start again so keep going. In this comp the Top Three Streaks will get some cash so the scores to beat are now:
The highest running streak at the mo belongs to McGyver with 19... steady as she goes.
Round 11
And the first of three split rounds starts. First up is the game that decides which of Carlton and the Cats will NOT make the finals. Yep... that would be Carlton v the Cats. I know... hmmm. The Cats will be too good and the Blues will go from 2nd to out of the 8 in just 5 weeks. Shame.
Richmond play Freo and are $1.22 favorites. How long is it since they were such short price favorites against a decent team? Big game in that much like the blues/cats, the loser will drop back in the race for the 8. Home ground advantage to the Tiggs and hard not to back em.
The Bombers are up against the Swanneees... Mumford is back up and running for the Swans, and the last two games between these teams have been under a goal. The Bombers should recover from their dodgy Dees games to get over the line here, while the Paps host the Hawkers. Four in a row for the Paps? They are paying $4 despite winning 3 in a row. Or maybe it is because the last time they played, the Hawks won by 165 points! That's almost as many supercoach points as Ablett averages! Hmmm. yeah ok... Hawks to win and snuff out the Paps slim finals aspirations.
The Sinners will stay in the 8 courtesy of the Suns, and the Pies will spank the Dees into yesterday.

Round 9: Damnit! Damnit! Damnit
Man that was a good game! I am of course referring to the Richmond v Hawkers game on Saturday afternoon. $3.40 the Marics were paying and if you didn't get on board you have only yourself to blame cos Nostra-Horseboy told you the future in last weeks write up. The fact I didn't actually friggin tip them is an aside. DAMNIT! Yep I fell for the ole Daaaaave 'I am a winner either way' Cassell routine. What a load a paffffft.
The other DAMNIT was me looking at my tips halfway through the very obvious victory by the Sinners over the NoGoodes and seeing I had somehow tipped the Swans. What the huck was I thinking with that one? The Swans best player isnt just their best player, they are completely useless without him. Is there a team in the comp more reliant on one player than the Swans? [Tip: the answer is No]
But the biggest DAMNIT was of course seeing the Mighty Mighties lose to the other Pie-Scum. In what was a great game for the first three quarters, it was just gonna require a small break to go one way for the game to turn. That break turned out to be Keeffe's leg. Ype, by getting rid of that FREELOADER they were themselves all of a sudden FREED to run away with the game in the last quarter. How useless does he feel now? Seriously. Timeline: Before break. Close. Crows just not converting opportunities. After break. Boom. Pies run away with a cuppla goals. Tick Tick Boom. Evolution is Action. Keeffe you were the anchor tied to the feet of the Pies. No wonder they aren't going to spend any time trying to get you back on the field this year. Welcome to the Jungle Mudda!.
Elsewhere the Pussies continued to look a bit down but got home over the Doggies. The dogs are a team that won't go anywhere this year but they will lose with some grunt and should finish mid table.
Speaking of which, the Roos got home over the lions but not without trying for a repeat of last week. And the overrated Blues kept it close for 3 quarters with The Worst Team of The Century. The Dees are the only team not talking about premierships this year but the Blues struggled to get away and that's not so good eh Falcs?
Worst Game of The Year honours went to the Derby. If you listed the worst 10 games of the last ten years they would all feature Ross Lyon as coach or assistant. Fact. At the start of the year I said the Dockers were an unknown proposition because of Lyon. Now we know the Dockers experiment is already over. Bang. The Eagles continue to roll on. Bang.
Surprisingly the Suns and Giants lost. YAWNS
Tippers
The Tiggers win stopped most people's chances of a perfect round, with 4 people tipping 8 - Chooka Trent, Judds and Gordos. Still leading the way despite a pathetic pittman of a performance (6 from 9 DAMNIT) is Horseboy. Speaking of Pittman, I actually graduated next to Pittman. Coming to a trivia night near you soon. In the streak mr Bailey continues his peasantish approach by just tipping the really obvious ones and letting the rest us fail with the odd misstep. Good work. That's what you can do when you are leading by a couple.
Round 10
First up is the mid-table clash of the century. The Sinners v the Tiggers. Just 4 weeks ago this was a battle to stay above Port, but all of a sudden both teams are up and running - literally. The Sinners have some pace and the Tiggers are attacking like there's no tomorrow. No suprise that the week I got bid of Baby Jack Riewoldt he suddenly kicked 6 goals. Bastard. It is still hard to pick the Tiggers - they have history.
The Hawks have a must-win game against the Roos. I can't see them losing this one - too much on the line - And the Roos will descend further into the mire of mediocrity... Meanwhile the Dockers have been copping it over in the west after their pathetic last cuppla weeks. There will be a few changes in the team to play the Crows. 50/50 but of course I'll tip the Crows. But only because they will win.
Another tricky one is the Paps hosting the Blues. What? Yes I know... THAT is how far the Blues have fallen. This is actually a danger game for them. Can't really tip the Tealscum but it wouldn't surprise and I would laugh. Equally dangerous is Sydney playing the Doggies at the SCG on Sunday. The Swans need to win, but the Doggies have that kind of dodgy game that may take it to the Swans. The NoGoodes need to find some spark. I suggest setting fire to LRT's helmet preferably while he is wearing it. Swans should win.
In the obvious games Geelong to beat GWS, Piescum kill the Suns, Bombers the Heart of Peas, and Drugs to beat the Lions.

Round 8 - Thrills n Kills
Ahhh the Mighty Mighty's! I think we all know that there were a cuppola happy campers in this here tipping comp after the weekends SMASHING of the Bluebaggers on the weekend. Loyalty has its own rewards - something WildJohnny may not know about after he picked the Pies over his supposedly beloved Cats. Apparently it was a game of low skill but it was pretty close in the end and there is no excuse not to pick yer own team in a 50/50! The ends does not justify the means my son!
There were two not so happy campers after the DEMOLITION that was the Crows v Blues - Chris Judds Chrome Dome and The Falcon. The latter drawn to question if Daaaaaave had picked the Blues before suggesting the game was an abortion... No no Mr Falcon... The game was a beautiful loving passionate embrace followed by conception that even Tony Abbott would approve of, and then a delightfully wonderful birth... mind you the Blues chances of a Top Two finish this year were indeed completely f'd by the end of it so I can see where you are coming from... And with Murphy joining Carazzo on the sidelines it should be an interesting month or so coming up.
That said, their next game is against the Dees and they are pure rubbish so they can pretty much rest the entire team. Can you really see the Dees beating anyone? You could give the entire team a set of machete's and their attack still couldn't penetrate butter. That was the worst game played by an AFL team since... hmm hang on... the Dees v the Cats last year...? I can tell you right now that if they were playing the Suns or Giants I wouldn't be putting my money on the Dees...
No surprises with the West Drugged Beagles win over the Sinners or the Hawkers over the Dockers. The haze tried to bore everyone to death for the first quarter before falling over faster than Leroy Jetta in a zephyr. Speaking of which, on Saturday night the Bombers and Tiggers played in the first meaningful Reamtime at the G ever, and scarily enough the Tiggers looked pretty handy. Without a doubt they are the best team out of the 8 (7) and could consider themselves unlucky to have had a tough draw. The Bombers played well (ugh) and are still equal top of the table with the MIGHTY MIGHTY's and Druggo's.
How good was the Paps win? 32 points down, 13 minutes into the last quarter and BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG... Oh my! Yeah I hate that filthy bunch a ugg boot wearing scrubbers but it was pretty funny seeing the Roos die in the butt. What the hell happened? Schultz kicked 7 chiko rolls and left the shinboners with nothing but tears my friends... Damn that was funny :) Seriously.
Oh, the Suns and Giants lost. Apparently that means that the Doggies and Lions are back on the winning path. Technically ok but come on...
Tipping
There were 7 tippers who managed 8 from 9's with Port and Adelaide's wins confounding them in equal amounts. They rise up the table but Horseboy is still king of the county courtesy of a 7 (missing the first two games of the round). Oh, and I have found the setting that changes the rankings to be overall position rather than the way it was... not 100% convinced on it either but it is probably better.
In the streak comp, Owen Bailey is taking the cautious approach - as he can. He is leading on 22 in a row with Falcon and Tom Rosewall still alive on 19. Don't forget that you do automatically restart if you get one wrong so don't stop putting your tips in.
Round 9
Some big games, some not so big games, but it's still a very open ladder at the moment so you wouldn't want to drop a game yer favorite for. Witness the Cats v the Bulldogs. Not sure who WildJohnny will go for but the Cats should win comfortably and if they don't, it's goodnight nurse.
If you are looking for an upset this week, my pick is the Tigers over the Hawks. I think they are a red hot go and have picked em as well as putting a friendly tenner down at $3.40. That's not a slight on the Hawks, I'm just thinking that the Tigers are due to convert effort into reward. OK it is a slight on the Hawks.
The Paps travel to the Gold Coast in what should be the game of the season. Two teams with nothing to play for at a ground where there will be no supporters. Awesome. The Paps were the Suns first victim last year but I can't see history repeating. If it does, Mich Rucci will have that knife drawn again. The Swans travel to Melbourne to play the Sinners. If the Sinners win then they are back in with a shot at the eight. If the Swans lose then their ability to play without Goodes is further questioned. Ok, confirmed. Hmmm. Are the Saints playing better? Flip a coin... when in doubt, go the home team... although they did play in the West on Sunday. Shizer. Tough call.
Ditto is the Saturday night blockbuster... the Crows re the Pies. Pre-season the Crows walloped the Pies on their way to NAB Cup Glory. Ahh the memories. The Pies are going ok but lose the Fatman and Reid. The Crows don't have Walker. The bandwagon is starting to roll... remember the Eagles in 2011? It's a game the Crows probably should win and that makes it dangerous. Dangerfield to lead the Mighty's to victory... but those odds for the Pies look a bit too juicy to be real.
Not so tough is the Bombers against the Giants. Apparently the Bombers had this labelled as a bye on their calender. Well they weren't far wrong and as we head deeped into the year you can expect to see the losses get bigger. 100 points to the Bombouts.
In a game of who gives, the Roos host the Lions. Whatever. Carlton play the Dees. Won't that be fun to watch? And there is the Western Derby. Darby. Whatever it is. Those wacky sandgropers. The team thats down wins these games right? Well I can't see that happening this time around and my money is on the Drugs to beat the Purple Haze.

Round 7: Giant Killers?
Ahhhh Richo You are a genius! A cuppla years back he sidled up to me at the local down in St Kilda and discussed his theory about taller goal posts causing an optical illusion that caused him to miss goals from 12 metres out straight in front. He said it was the Muller-Lyer Illusion. It may be true but when I told him he needed to take a good hard look at himself lest people make fun, he started to look all mopey. But I still let him take a photo of us together under the proviso he didn't Facebook it.
Typical - I found he LIED - he couldn't resist a lil Horseboy on his Facebook.
Well it came as no real surprise to me that he tried to float the idea with BT halfway through the second quarter of the Sinners and Sturt game on Monday night. RICHO! DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR AND SHUT UP! YOU SOUND LIKE YOU WERE WHEN YOU PLAYED THE GAME ie a JOKE!!
RICHO's nonsensical diatribe aside, the Sinners took it to Sturt and actually beat them. It aint often I enjoy seeing Milney take it to a team cos basically he is a knob, but on this occasion the Double Blues were just a bit too cocky and BANG... KAPOW... Get back in your box Bluebaggers and while yer at it, give us back our guernsey. The mighty Double Blues OWN THAT THING so piss off.
It has got pretty tight at the top eh? It's starting to feel more like who isn't equal top of the table. Actually wipe that cos the Dees are definitely not at the top of the table. In fact they are playing so bad that right now I am guessing Guy McKenna can't wait to play them. Who picked the Dees for bottom? Surely there were some who knew that the old firm of Sheeeeeeeds and Choc would combine well with da yoof of Cornes, Brogan and Macdonald. Genius. Actually no one picked the Dees for bottom. But the Suns had SFA in hand to take the Giants on, looking much like their coach did when I saw him finish off last years Gold Coast Marathon in the time it takes to finish a one day international. Embarrassing but that's what happens when yer borne with the nut of blood.
Daaaaave is of course pretty happy with his beloved bombers. He may even have tipped em. The fact the drug sniffers were without most of their forward line and nicnat was of no consequence in his mind because apparently the bombers have 12 injuries. Dave - the mini leaguers and assorted absolute rubbish on your injury list doesn't count. Still they won and won well. A bit like the Mighty Mighty's over the Cats! GO YOU GOOD THINGS! But yes the Cats ain't what they used to be... And Walker has now been rubbed out for NOTHING... Bluddy rubbish.
The Tigger bandwagon has started but lets be honest, the Swans without Goodes are indeed no good. Nuff said.
The Roos showed they are an ordinary bunch of footballers which is no surprise. Over the last five years the Roos have been the team to cost me more tips than anyone - they win when they shouldn't and lose all they should win. Everyday I love them less and less. They made the Dogs look good and that is no mean feat. A bit like the Power made the Dockers look good and the Lions made the Pies look like Premiership contenders.
Tipping
In the tipping 6 from 9 was the best anyone could do - 8 tippers getting that - and despite da Horseboy not being one of them he opened up a 2 point lead at the top - clear of 7 other contenders to the throne.
In the Streak comp Owen Bailey leads the way with 20 - that's pretty damn impressive! But then if you tip the Blues as a dead cert you get what you pay for... A dud.
Round 8
With it this tight in the top 14, it is safe to say that every game is important and no different this week. It starts with the Grand Final Replay - the Pies v the Cats. On current form you go the Pies but don't forget the pies played the lions while the Cats played the Mighty's - the Cats will show something and rebound cos if they don't then I really think it is the end of an era - lucky the Scott boy got a Premiership while he could.
The Paps host the Roos - two teams that could merge and still have no one show up. At home I am tipping the Paps but that just means the Roos will win. The Hawks play the Haze in tassie in another middle of the table clash. The Dockers have had an extremely heavy travel schedule over the last few weeks - too much and the Hawks will win by 3-5 goals, while the Swans will win without Goodes. Cos they are playing the Dees. Ditto the Dogs over the Suns.
Dreamtime at the G actually means something this year but the Dons should have too much - comfortably. Tis a chance for the Tiggers to stand up and show us though. The Crows will continue their run and the Blues will continue theirs, while the Giants must be a chance over the Lions - but would you pick em? No.
Finally the injury hit Beagles play against the born again Saints. Cant imagine the Sinners can manage it over west.

What Can't He Do?
Ahhh Vladamir Putin! One thing he never said is "I have more chance of lining up on the ice for Russia in ice hockey than I do of rigging running for President again."
