Round 8 - Thrills n Kills

Ahhh the Mighty Mighty's! I think we all know that there were a cuppola happy campers in this here tipping comp after the weekends SMASHING of the Bluebaggers on the weekend.   Loyalty has its own rewards - something WildJohnny may not know about after he picked the Pies over his supposedly beloved Cats.  Apparently it was a game of low skill but it was pretty close in the end and there is no excuse not to pick yer own team in a 50/50!  The ends does not justify the means my son!

There were two not so happy campers after the DEMOLITION that was the Crows v Blues - Chris Judds Chrome Dome and The Falcon. The latter drawn to question if Daaaaaave had picked the Blues before suggesting the game was an abortion... No no Mr Falcon... The game was a beautiful loving passionate embrace followed by conception that even Tony Abbott would approve of, and then a delightfully wonderful birth... mind you the Blues chances of a Top Two finish this year were indeed completely f'd by the end of it so I can see where you are coming from... And with Murphy joining Carazzo on the sidelines it should be an interesting month or so coming up.

That said, their next game is against the Dees and they are pure rubbish so they can pretty much rest the entire team. Can you really see the Dees beating anyone?  You could give the entire team a set of machete's and their attack still couldn't penetrate butter.  That was the worst game played by an AFL team since... hmm hang on... the Dees v the Cats last year...?  I can tell you right now that if they were playing the Suns or Giants I wouldn't be putting my money on the Dees...

No surprises with the West Drugged Beagles win over the Sinners or the Hawkers over the Dockers. The haze tried to bore everyone to death for the first quarter before falling over faster than Leroy Jetta in a zephyr.  Speaking of which, on Saturday night the Bombers and Tiggers played in the first meaningful Reamtime at the G ever, and scarily enough the Tiggers looked pretty handy. Without a doubt they are the best team out of the 8 (7) and could consider themselves unlucky to have had a tough draw.  The Bombers played well (ugh) and are still equal top of the table with the MIGHTY MIGHTY's and Druggo's.

How good was the Paps win? 32 points down, 13 minutes into the last quarter and BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG... Oh my! Yeah I hate that filthy bunch a ugg boot wearing scrubbers but it was pretty funny seeing the Roos die in the butt. What the hell happened? Schultz kicked 7 chiko rolls and left the shinboners with nothing but tears my friends... Damn that was funny :)  Seriously.

Oh, the Suns and Giants lost.  Apparently that means that the Doggies and Lions are back on the winning path.  Technically ok but come on...

Tipping
There were 7 tippers who managed 8 from 9's with Port and Adelaide's wins confounding them in equal amounts.  They rise up the table but Horseboy is still king of the county courtesy of a 7 (missing the first two games of the round).  Oh, and I have found the setting that changes the rankings to be overall position rather than the way it was... not 100% convinced on it either but it is probably better.

In the streak comp, Owen Bailey is taking the cautious approach - as he can.  He is leading on 22 in a row with Falcon and Tom Rosewall still alive on 19.  Don't forget that you do automatically restart if you get one wrong so don't stop putting your tips in.

Round 9
Some big games, some not so big games, but it's still a very open ladder at the moment so you wouldn't want to drop a game yer favorite for.  Witness the Cats v the Bulldogs.  Not sure who WildJohnny will go for but the Cats should win comfortably and if they don't, it's goodnight nurse.

If you are looking for an upset this week, my pick is the Tigers over the Hawks.  I think they are a red hot go and have picked em as well as putting a friendly tenner down at $3.40.  That's not a slight on the Hawks, I'm just thinking that the Tigers are due to convert effort into reward.  OK it is a slight on the Hawks.

The Paps travel to the Gold Coast in what should be the game of the season.  Two teams with nothing to play for at a ground where there will be no supporters.  Awesome.  The Paps were the Suns first victim last year but I can't see history repeating.  If it does, Mich Rucci will have that knife drawn again.   The Swans travel to Melbourne to play the Sinners.  If the Sinners win then they are back in with a shot at the eight.  If the Swans lose then their ability to play without Goodes is further questioned.  Ok, confirmed.  Hmmm.  Are the Saints playing better?  Flip a coin... when in doubt, go the home team... although they did play in the West on Sunday.  Shizer.  Tough call.

Ditto is the Saturday night blockbuster... the Crows re the Pies.  Pre-season the Crows walloped the Pies on their way to NAB Cup Glory.  Ahh the memories.  The Pies are going ok but lose the Fatman and Reid.  The Crows don't have Walker.  The bandwagon is starting to roll... remember the Eagles in 2011?  It's a game the Crows probably should win and that makes it dangerous.  Dangerfield to lead the Mighty's to victory... but those odds for the Pies look a bit too juicy to be real.

Not so tough is the Bombers against the Giants.  Apparently the Bombers had this labelled as a bye on their calender.  Well they weren't far wrong and as we head deeped into the year you can expect to see the losses get bigger.  100 points to the Bombouts.

In a game of who gives, the Roos host the Lions.  Whatever.  Carlton play the Dees.  Won't that be fun to watch?  And there is the Western Derby.  Darby.  Whatever it is.  Those wacky sandgropers.  The team thats down wins these games right?  Well I can't see that happening this time around and my money is on the Drugs to beat the Purple Haze.
