Un. Believable.

What an awesome game.  Pre-match you have never seen such a cocky group of people.  Well, not since Magnussen and Co in the lead up to the Olympics.  Having a slash at the salubrious Royal Hotel I mentioned to a Hawker that Hodgey was out.  Response?  That's ok, it's just a training run... he's resting.

Safe to say it was pretty quiet at the ground for the first half.  Shades of '98 rang shudders through the Hawks unfaithful.  Or should have.  4000 inside 50's producing nothing but points as the boys in brown n gold kept reading their own press.  Crows inside 50? Goal.  At half time there weren't a lot of smiles around the G, but the inside of their undies was starting to look like the team colours.  Crucial goals to Tex & Tippers (please stay) kept the dream alive.  A smash n grab session in the 3rd left the Mighties down by 16 at the last break.  The crowd finding voice and not just when telling Schoenmakers how crap he was.  A last quarter scrap beckoned and a scrap was fought out.  Dodgy free kick to Franklin gifts him a goal at a crucial moment.  The Porps weak knees accentuate the stupidity of Shoenmakers and he makes them pay.  The tag-team of Rioli and Buddy get the poos back in front... STIFFY!!!!! goal.  Why was he the super sub?  We thought there was plenty of time left as the Mighty's began a surge forward that would have netted the right result for all good thinking people but sadly the timekeepers must have forgotten to stop the clock on various occasions through the last quarter and dang... the Hawks win their training run.

Dunstall, ever gracious in victory and defeat says they have had their bad game... for mine, the Swans are looking good to get the win.  Hawks, overrated.  Mostly by themselves.  The Swans play a team game and would be feeling better to take on the Hawks than they would have with the Mighties.

I'm on a course for a few days but will update with $values etc when I get a chance...

Roll on 2013.
